TGIF
TGIF = ThanksGiving Is Finished.
This is the only TGIF that I’m not happy about! I LOVE Thanksgiving! It’s my favorite holiday because it revolves around my favorite past time...eating!
I am beyond thankful for the friends and family that I have. I love you guys so much!
Now...cue the slow motion photo montage...

Approaching Turkey Day 2010
My Momz and Stepdad are on their way up to NY as we speak! (Ok...as I type. Unless you’re reading this aloud. In that case, you’re the one making it weird.) We’re looking to repeat the awesome event that was Thanksgiving 2009. Prepare yourself for food porn.
Aunt Angie Invades Ocean Springs
This past weekend I went to visit my family in Mississippi. The boys were as cute as ever, and I loved seeing how big Taylor had gotten! Within the few months since I’ve seen him, he’s gone from crawling to running all over the place. He can even dribble a soccer ball! Here’s a few fun things we did during my visit:
We rode bikes!
Had dance parties!
Had picnics! (Brannon, you’re such a cheeseball...)
Played in the water!
Celebrated Brannon’s 4th Birthday!
Swang on a swing!
And carved a scaaaarrrRrRrrrRy pumpkin!

I love my little buddies so much!!! See you again soon!
Oil Spill Tracker
I’ve been doing my best to follow the spread of BP oil in the Gulf. My mom lives in Destin, Florida, and will probably be affected any day now. *sob*
The NY Times has a great oil spill tracker, which is both useful and terrifying at the same time. It shows the day by day spread of oil on the surface, as well as where it has hit land.
Mommy Needs To Work Out
One reason I like being at the beach with my two nephews is because I know people will say "Oh, she looks great for having two kids!" They don't have to know that they're not mine.
UPDATE: 4 HOURS LATER...
Great. Some supermodel mom just came down with her two kids...and her six pack abs. Way to put me in my place, ma’am.
Taylor’s 1st Birthday Celebration
The sweetest baby in the world turned 1 yesterday! We weren’t able to get everybody together until that night, so all the celebrations happened today. Taylor had an AMAZING birthday cake! It was a sailboat and was made by his Nana and Papa. I might put in a request to have this cake for my 30th! Brannon and I also enjoyed our hamburgers...as you can see.

Dropped Call Heartbreak
As I’ve mentioned before, my nephew is about 3½ years old, and has memorized all the numbers on my sister’s speed dial. Needless to say, I LOVE when he calls me and I always stop what I’m doing to talk to him. This evening he called, but a few minutes later he stopped talking and the phone cut out. I figured that he had gotten bored and hung up on me. I didn’t take it personally even though he ALWAYS tells me that he loves me when he hangs up.
He called right back and in a sad voice said, “Why you don’t wanna talk to me?” Oh my god, my heart broke into a million pieces! How do you explain the concept of dropped calls to a child?!? I told him that sometimes cell phones hang up by themselves, and that I ALWAYS want to talk to him! Luckily, he understood, and I didn’t have to break down in tears. I’m still a little shaken up though. Maybe half a glass of boxed wine might help... (see earlier post)
Nephew Overload!!!
Hey all! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post. I went to Jackson, Mississippi this past week to look after my nephews while my sister and hubby went to Miami (I still haven’t figured out who had the better vacation...). My mother came too, and the two of us were able to easily divide and conquer both of my adorable nephews.
Taylor - aka, the sweetest baby in the world - is almost 11 months old. Brannon - aka, the crazy one (yet, equally sweet when he wants to be) - is 3½. It goes without saying that they are my favoritest kids in the world, and I would quickly swipe them up if given the chance.
WARNING: I'm about to post an annoying amount of videos that I took during my visit. Luckily, they don’t mind my camera being in their faces.
Brannon’s Stuck: Brannon had driven his bike through this puddle no less than 50 times when I ran into the garage to get my camera. When I looked back, he had gotten himself stuck! This was even funnier!
Lazy Morning: Just playing around in our jammies.
Puff The Magic Dragon - Brannon’s Acapella Version: Thanks to his Papa and Nana, Brannon knows all the words to Puff the Magic Dragon. And after watching this video over and over, so do I! Around 1:10, he gets distracted by a bug, and instead of picking up where he left off, he decides to start from scratch. A true perfectionist!
I’ve Been Workin’ On The Railroad: Brannon continues his concert series with the classic “I’ve Been Workin’ On The Railroad”. It’s toe-tappin’ fun for the whole family!
Slide Time!: Taylor LOVES going down the slide! He crawls towards it, and goes down all by himself. What a big boy! (Don’t worry moms...we’re professionals.)
Bicycle/Basketball/Reindeer/Garbage - A Brannon Original: Lil’ Wayne ain’t got nothin’ on Brannon! You’re looking at a future singer/songwriter, right here.
Ride That Horsey: Ride that horsey, ride to town. Ride that horsey, DON’T FALL DOWN!!! Meme and Brannon have fun on the hammock...while Taylor doesn’t seem to be amused at all.
Long Lost Nephew
Yay! My nephew, Brannon, just called me! It’s been a while since we’ve talked, so this just made my day. We discussed lots of important issues:
• He went swimming today.
• His eyes started burning, so he closed them.
• He should try and swim with his goggles again.
• We had fun swimming with goggles at the beach. I’d go underwater and he could see me.
• When he was a baby, he could swim in the baby pool.
• He still doesn't like to go down the slide at swim class.
• Taylor wants to talk to me.
• ........ (Taylor’s about 9 months old. Not much talking going on.)
• Somebody gave him a heart-shaped sucker today.
• “It’s because people love you.”
• I love him.
• Mommy loves him.
• Meme and Poppy love him. Nana and Papa love him.
• Me: “Tell me about your new house.”
• Brannon: “It’s good. Mama said that you will have your own room.”
• Me: “Really?!?! So, I don’t have to sleep on the floor anymore?”
• Brannon: “No, but you can sleep in my bed and I can sleep in yours.”
• Me: “Yes, we’ll have to pick out the beds that we like.”
• Brannon: “Yeah...we should get on that.”
• Taylor wants to say goodbye.
• ........
I kinda feel sorry for the people in my office, because in order for my phone to get decent reception I have to sit in the “common area.” This means, that everybody in the first 1/4 of the office has to listen to my conversations with Brannon. (I’m sure they love it.) But today, after I hung up, a co-worker popped his head up and said, “Where’d that accent come from?” I guess Brannon brings out the South in my voice!
Back To 2007
I was searching through my old emails, and I found one where I answered lots of random questions about myself. For example, “What’s your favorite food?” Mexican. Dur. I wrote these answers back in January 2007, and don’t remember any of it. Here are a few that I still like:
6) Tell me about your brother(s)/sister(s). I love my sister so much. We never fight - even when we were younger. She's a dentist and lives in Jackson, MS while her husband is doing his residency there. She never wears makeup.
10) What’s your favorite thing about New York? How you can walk down the street and find a place you’ve never seen before.
18) Do you have any regrets in life? just one (For the record, I have NO IDEA what I was referring to! The only thing I can think of is the fact that I went to college at Samford University rather than somewhere awesome like NYU. This is going to drive me nuts...)
