NERDERY: 3D Cameras
I’m currently down in Austin, TX for the Interactive portion of South By Southwest. There’s lots of emerging and interesting technologies being introduced, with one of them being 3D cameras. While hanging with my buddies Brad and Damien, we got our photo snapped by 3D Porch...which popped up on cnn.com today. Well, just call me famous.
Get out your kid’s 3D glasses. It really works!

Picture this...New York, 2004...
You’re in a relationship. Everything’s wonderful and the two of you decide to adopt a little puppy together. You both name it, feed it, and love it. Eventually however, the two of you split apart...for good. There’s no way that you can share this puppy. So, in efforts to end your relationship amicably, you allow your ex to keep it. You take one last look into it’s sad little puppy eyes, and you walk away.
Years pass by. You’ve searched and searched for a puppy that warms your heart like the one you’ve lost, but none quite measure up.
Then one day, 6 years later, you are randomly strolling past an animal shelter and there in the window...is your puppy! (Yes, it’s still a puppy. Don’t question the story.) You run inside to take a closer look, and sure enough, it’s him! WHAT?!? What happened?!? Did your ex LOSE him?!? Should you let him know that his puppy is here?!?
The worker explains how they contacted him several times and gave him plenty of time to come pick him up...but he never came. The worker also explained that they can’t hold him for you. If you want him...you have to buy him now. Otherwise, they will sell him to the next customer who wants him.
Not wanting to miss this opportunity, you throw down the money and scoop him up in your loving arms.
You hold him close and say, “My God...I can’t believe it! I’ve missed you so much!” You’re gitty. You’re on top of the world!
Yet, part of you feels guilty - like you’re stealing something. You’re scared that one day he’ll see the two of you walking down the street together and demand you give him back. But then your wise friend Batrice* assures you that if he had wanted your puppy, he never would have let him go in the first place - or at least come and pick him up once he realized he was missing!
“You’re right, Batrice. He’s back where he belongs now. He’s home.” And the two of you live happily ever after.
[END SCENE]
The moral of the story: If you ever give up an awesome company name like GoldKrush to your ex...you better snatch that puppy up when he lets the url expire! IT’S MINE!!!**

NERDERY: Happy Birthday Pac-Man!
Google regularly recognizes many notable events and holidays by changing the logo on their landing page to represent them. Some of these included celebrating the birthdays of people who have impacted the world in a positive way - Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou, etc. But, today Google outdid themselves when they celebrated Pac-Man’s 30th Birthday! I’d like to point out, that we were born in the same year...1980, baby!
What at first looks like an illustration, soon comes to life as a mini Pac-Man game! Well played, Google. Well played. (No pun.) Click on the image above to go play it! But, go today! It may not be there tomorrow.

WORK: Pillsbury Bake-Off Stories
Some of my work for Pillsbury just went live! And just a warning...it’ll make you hungry.
I built the flash module at the bottom, where you’re able to sort through recipes and watch videos. This means that I had to stare at these gorgeous images of food all...day...long. Needless to say, if there were any bugs in the dessert section, I would’ve found ‘em.
